Ellie

I'm pleased to hear that someone else is taking an interest in what to me is
a very debilitating condition. Currently I am suffering bad nights,
evenings and afternoons although the taking of Requip is easing the night
sleep problem. By all means give me a call and I will try and help you.

Beast wishes

Robin

& requests fo

Hello everyone,
I have posted previously on this subject, but I have noticed over the
last few months that several new members have joined the group. I am a
third year undergraduate at the University of Derby and as part of my
final year assessment I have to undertake a piece of independent
research, the area I have chosen is Ekbom Syndrome /RLS. I am interested
in the degree to which the condition affects the patient's Quality of
Life. I will be carrying out an interview which will provide you with
plenty of opportunity to describe how the condition affects you. Please
contact me if you would like more information, the ethics of my research
are currently being passed and the interviews will be commencing
shortly. The Quality of Life area is greatly under researched and to
date there is NO PUBLISHED literature detailing the degree to which
lives are affected by this condition. Research exists using standard
questionairres providing lots of statistics, but rich qualitative
interviews are absent and this needs to be rectified. It is tremendously
difficult finding people who are willing to help, but hopefully you will
see my efforts are for the greater good! Thank you very much to the
people who have contacted me and who are still willing to help out, but
I do need a few more, please do not be afraid to offer the help, I am
willing to travel to conduct the interviews and at present the willing
participants are the length and breadth of the United Kingdom. Even if
you just want to ask me a few questions then change your mind - that is
fine, it is your prerogative. Thanking you all in anticipation of an
overwhelming response!
Regards
Ellie MacDonald
