Hi Juan,
Adding EM Bokashi to the feed is most beneficial. Full programs also
involve adding Activated EM1 to the drinking water at a rate of 1:
2000. Depending on the size of the animal, this rate is increased to
as high as 1:500. There have never been any recorded negative
effects. My fathin-in-law is a poultry grower (layers) in Japan. He
uses only EM Bokashi in the feed, none in the drinking water. He will
use as high as 10% of the feed ration.
I have heard of people using even higher percentages. This should not
be a goal as more is not always better. If you go to the EMTN
database: http://www.emtech.org, and search for poultry, a study from
the 7th Kyusei Nature Farming Proceedings is one of the better ones.
I don't remember the specifics, just that a couple poultry growers
commented on it a while ago.
Remember to spray down the litter, the walls, the ceiling, add to the
drinking water and the feed with each flock. It will take 3-4 flocks
of this program to see the full benefits. Keeping some of the old
litter is beneficial as well.
Regards,
Eric

Dear Eric,
Thank you very much for making public the link in your message, it give some
important information to strenght a proposal that i am preparing to work
with Poultry systems in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.
I would like to ask you Please for more information about EM bokashi to give
the poultry as part of the feed (1-2%) my main concern is about what could
be the effects of the bokashi in the poultry (make with part of the same
chicken feed as anaerobic fermentation)
As Example the bokashi will be: of 1 ton. of chicken feed will be fermented
20 kg per 15 two weeks with EM-Activated (10%)and molasses(10%) and
water(20%). That information i have taken from one documento of EMRO, but i
could not find the effects in the poultry and in the health of animals.
Thanks alot for your great help.
Regards,
Juan Carlos Mejia

Hello Chryssoula,
I have a couple responses:
1. To have a strong effect of EM1 in the air, you can put it in a
humidifier and run it periodically in the house. Otherwise, you will find
that you will have to spray a little more often.
About EM-X, please tell your mother that she should take about 10ml per day
and stick with it for at least a couple months. She can mix it in tea or
coffee (or some other hot drink) as some research is showing that the amino
acids triple or quadruple when mixed in hot liquids. Once she goes through
the few months of use, have her go to the doctor for a checkup. She should
get some blood work done. Then she will see what is truly happening.
2. Beer is grown in a fermentation tank as well and can be called natural.
It is a natural process. The microbes are not genetically
modified and there are no synthetic compounds put in the process.
This is why it is natural.
We have a program lined out for professional operations on our website:
http://www.emamerica.com/data/agriculture/horticulture--greenhouses/
I am not sure if you have the same type of certifying agency as we do in the
United States. Here EM1 is approved for all certified organic production.
Good luck,
Eric

Dear all of you,
1. I live in Athens Greece and was informed about EM last November
2005 by the local representative and since then, I started slowly
using them in my garden, in my veranda, in my home. As it was very
new to me and needed to make some tests each time. I thought of
using them fror mopping up my veranda where my little dog oftens
does here peeing... when I am not in time back to take her out! I
added some in the bucket's water, did not change it at all for about
a week!!! and there was no smell whatsoever. I was impressed! I
was also impressed to see my indoor plants that usually lost quite a
lot of leaves during winter, to remain healthy after I started
spraying them for about once a weed all through winter.
Now, I have a question for you. A very important one. My mother
lives in the middle of the city which, unfortunately is very
polluted. She suffers of Parkinson's disease among other things and
does not want to move from her appartment, not even for the summer
months.
I was thinking of trying to spray twice a day (moring and night)
into the appartment with a solution of 1:100 EMa in an endeavor to
clean the air she breaths day- in/day-out. Do you think it would be
a good idea? Do you believe that this should in a way solve this
part of the problem I have and concerns my mother's well-being? I
had a few months ago bought EM-X for her to drink, she did it a few
days and then returned to me the half full bottle saying that it did
not help her at all, as if this would be magic! If my idea of
spraying in the air could be of help, I could arrange it with the
woman who takes care of her without even my mother knowing!
Please let me know if you have had in the past similar cases.
2. I was talking yesterday to a man I met who deals with nurseries
and imports of plants and talked to him about EM. He then made a
question that I did not know what to reply. He said: But isn't EM1
produced in the laboratory? If it is, how is it considered
natural? What is the reply to this??
Many thanks ffor your attention
Chryssoula
