Hi all
Yes, there have been several website modifications. It
wasn't your eyes playing tricks on you.
There were a lot of changes that happened in the
Library on the Books aisle. As it turned out, several
titles are linked to the archived newsletters and some
are not. There were sections in the books aisles that
no longer exist as well as titles that are out of
circulation. So the Books (
http://entrances.tripod.com/ceralibrary/id4.html ) had
a few listings removed. But there was new content to
replace them.
For example, Earl Smith has a book on starting and
running your business called Amazing Pace. I haven't
read it yet (it arrived in October) but the book has
two 5-star Amazon ratings.
Then Paul Siker has a book on recruiting and sourcing
called Proactive Recruiting. I attended one of Paul's
trainings last year. He is absolutely amazing. I've
leafed through his book. Yes, it's another keeper.
Then there are a couple of books on social and
business networking both in real life and online. A
couple of the titles are by Donna Fisher and the other
two by Susan Roane. You'll want to get your hands on
either set or the whole sheebang!
Adding these titles to the Books aisle then created a
need to cross link them to the Recruiter Tools (
http://entrances.tripod.com/ceralibrary/id17.html ).
In addition to those tools, you'll find both of the
Kennedy Information guides -- working with an
executive recruiter as well as the directory of
recruiters.
For some reason, The Pundit (
http://thepundit.wordpress.com ) was missing from the
blog list, so that was added to the navigation bar.
If you to to the new community area (
http://entrances.ning.com ) (and you're invited to
move there and off of the Topica lists), you'll find
the career and recruiter tips are living there now.
The Vocabulary builders are also there and we now have
three to choose from:
(1) the wiki-style in the Forum
(2) the site generated one from Free Dictionary; and
(3) a new one powered by Free Rice. For each correct
word, you create a donation of 10 grains of rice to be
given to a person in a country where hunger is an
issue.
I've found a new disability resource and posted the
link in the community. Additionally, there are some
links to legal resources you'll want to check. If you
can't find these in the community, there's still the
solid standby the Bulletins (
http://forums.delphiforums.com/Entrances/start ).
The Marketplace in the community is where notices
about recruiters looking for candidates and candidates
looking for opportunities. Feel free to post.
We now have a category for Frivolous Fridays - a
little humor to kick off the weekend. We also have a
section in the community for talking about any
industry's role model and some interesting information
about them. Please do provide some substance for that.
We need more role models in all areas.
While there may have been a few things that were
overlooked in this quick note, this should be enough
to give you an idea of what's been going on. I
encourage you to use the sites to keep your career and
business growing in a positive direction.
Suggestions, requests? Send them!
Happy Thanksgiving!
