Over the last two or three years, I've been meeting a lot of Masters and
Ph.D. Engineering students and grads. What they've done is combined
their special education in electronic engineering with an IT emphasis in
order to specialize in various areas, including drafting and design.
I haven't researched the number of these types of grads who become
Business IT consultants but it seems it's growing.
Since things around me have been like exploding asteroids, I'm not too
clear on the things involved with these skill sets and what these types
of candidates bring to the table. But I *am* aware that they're able to
demand some really healthy salaries and perks.
Would some of you explain this new class of candidate? How should they
be screened? What determines whether they're a good fit for the company
and have the required expertise for the position?
