Pmocatat stands for "Pre-recorded music on cd's and tapes and things".
Each member of the ensemble has recorded the sounds of their traditional
instruments onto tapes, cd's or ipods. For the performance, we'll be
manipulating those recordings in collaboration. I've created a series of
loose compositions for the show. The practice sounded great!
Amar Chaudhary: iPhone of various traditional Indian instruments
Matt Davignon: CDs/Tapes of acoustic
guitar/percussion/glockenspeil/accordion
James Goode: Tapes of hammond organ and percussion
John Hanes: iPod of percussion/other instruments
Suki O'Kane: CDs/Tapes of percussion/marimba/other instruments
Sarah Stiles: Tapes of piano/violin/percussion
Rent Romus: Tapes of saxophones/flute
C. P. Wilsea - Tapes of cello/guitar/glockenspiel/percussion
Michael Zelner: iPod of sax/clarinet
Guitarist Jason Swanagon opens at 8pm.
Pmocatat Ensemble is on at 9pm.
Thanks for listening!
