Teachers around the US are starting to discover Robert Stanek's and if
you want to use the books in your classroom, Reagent Press has wonderful

Robert will be touring in select cities throughout 2004 and 2005 to help

Robert Stanek is available to visit your school. In a typical school
visit, he does four presentations (approximately 45-60 minutes each).
Some of the topics he includes are his background, writing and
publishing, how his ideas turn into stories, and how to create fantasy
worlds. Robert is also willing to do a few group presentations, then
work with selected students in a workshop atmosphere, or meet with
students informally. Robert has a strong background in writing and
classroom instruction and truly enjoys being with young people and
inspiring them to read and write.

School Presentations: Robert offers classroom workshops designed to
challenge and inspire young writers from 4th grade through 8th Grade.

Classroom Workshops:

Story Building: After reading and discussing short scenes from several
books, students learn how their imagination helps bring the story to

Character Building: After introducing key characters from several books
and discussing the characters in class, students learn how to bring
characters to life.

World Building: After introducing several fantasy worlds and their
backgrounds, and giving students an opportunity to discuss, students
learn how to create fantasy landscapes from the ground up, includes map
creationg and interactive hands on activities done in small groups.     


Author Introduction - Features an intropduction to the works of Robert
Stanek and his stories. Gets kids excited about reading and shows the
important life lessons stories often contain.

Story Building- Features a reading from the authors book and discussion
on how readers help create the story. The assembly is designed to make
readers aware of their importance in helping the author create the
