A "101 Best Websites for Writers"
Choice by Writer's Digest, May 2005

Dear Writing Friends,

Welcome to the Writing on the Run Tip of the Week.

Okay, here's the gratifying part of writing and publishing - when
readers write back. Of course, not everyone will love what you wrote,
but those who take the time to tell you how much your words have meant
to them truly brighten your day.

So why not try it out?

Send something you wrote to a friend who will give you some positive
strokes. Preface the letter with a request for the friend to only tell
you what he or she likes. You'll get plenty about what people don't like
later on. But early on in the creative process, the gentle rain of
encouragement will make the flowers grow.

****
We want to keep the focus of this newsletter on the inspiring and
practical suggestions that will make your writing life easier and more
fulfilling. So this week we will be sending you a "Special Edition" of
the Writing on the Run Tip of the Week. It is a one-time event to offer
more information about our new book, RESCUED: Saving Animals from
Disaster.

We ask you to please help spread the word that RESCUED is a must-read
for everyone who has an animal companion or who cares about saving
animal and human lives. Thank you!

****

Remember, life is your page.

Today's Tip of the Week will put you to sleep - productively.

We hope these tips bring you closer to achieving your writing goals and
inspire you to share your own great ideas for how to enjoy writing, even
when life gets busy.

We invite you to e-mail this week's tip in its entirety to, other
writers who might benefit from it.

Sincerely,
Allen and Linda Anderson

TIP OF THE WEEK

A QUESTION FOR THE SANDMAN

Excerpt from "101 Tips for Writing on the Run" by Allen and Linda
Anderson

Prior to going to bed, write a question you have about your writing
project. This question may relate to a character, plot point, article
theme, or some other creative aspect of your writing.

Place the written question under your pillow. This cues your
subconscious mind to help you find the answer to your question.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT:

What questions do you have this week for "The Sandman"?

jungles of self, the world, and of craft."
--Jessamyn West

"One of the most feared expressions in modern times is 'The computer is
down.'"
--Norman Augustine

"All words are pegs to hang ideas on."

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR 100-WORD WRITING ON THE RUN IDEA

FOR THE TIP OF THE WEEK:

Mail to: writingo-@aol.com with your best 100-word idea for making
time and space to write. Include a 25-word bio. If we publish your
idea in the newsletter, you will receive a byline and the bio in which
you can mention your own writing projects. For those of you who are
