As many universities seek to increase the number of off-campus programs as
a source of revenue, librarians are challenged to provide a growing number
of Web-based services to this population. Librarians must enhance these
programs to ensure that distance education students are afforded adequate
and equal services to those received by their on-campus counterparts. This
program seeks to examine current Web-based services to distance education
students. The ACRL guidelines as well as SACS guidelines will be used as
evaluation tools for Web-based services to distance students.
