Description
As the Designer II - Wellness, you will be responsible for applying
your strong design, color and material skills, innovative thinking,
and technical experience in athletic footwear toward creating
products, technologies and components for the Wellness team. You will
work primarily in cross-functional teams to design and develop
concepts that continue to advance New Balance product performance and
aesthetics. You will use your deep understanding of color, form and
trends to add color and material to cutting-edge designs and define
aesthetic direction. In this role, you will participate in laying out
an overarching color/materials roadmap for Wellness, Walking, and
collections within both. You will be required to research and source
materials and put concept boards together to present options that
continue to advance New Balance product performance and excellence.
You will work closely with design, development, sourcing, and product
management. As an integral member of the team, you will research
project needs, generate multiple concept solutions and communicate
your ideas through sketches, renderings, boards and presentations.
Specific Skills
- Bachelor=E2=80=99s degree in Industrial or Product Design with a minimum =
of
three years of experience at the Designer I level (or similar
experience).
- Strong skills in core design competencies: color, materials,
sketching, concept ideation, presenting, problem-solving.
- Demonstrated technical understanding of footwear construction and
manufacturing
- Interest in user-centered design research.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
- Some domestic and international travel will be required.
