Usability Consultant at the Bentley University Design and Usability Center
The Design and Usability Center (DUC) at Bentley University
(www.bentley.edu/usability) seeks a full-time usability consultant.
The DUC is a world-class, state-of-the-art facility providing
user-centered research, and usability testing services for clients
around the world. The DUC also supports Bentley's graduate program in
Human Factors in Information Design and related research efforts in
the field of human computer interaction.
As a usability consultant, the successful applicant will work on a
wide variety of products in various industries, ranging from ecommerce
websites and web-based business applications to consumer products and
medical devices. Projects will involve a range of research techniques
including: field methods, task analysis, personas, focus groups, eye
tracking, card sorting, expert reviews, usability testing,
accessibility evaluations, and surveys.
This person will report to the Director of the Center. Successful
candidates must possess:
* =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 An advanced degree in cognitive=
psychology, human
computer interaction, human factors, or related field
* =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 At least five years of consulti=
ng experience
* =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 Expertise in a wide variety of =
user-centered design
techniques, including those listed above
* =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 Demonstrable project management=
experience
* =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 Strong written and oral communi=
cation skills and
experience presenting to clients
* =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 Strong interpersonal skills and=
ability to interact
successfully with end users, clients, and the general public

lls with measurable results
