Description
Manta Product Development, located in Cambridge, MA, is an award
winning product design consulting firm specializing in the research,
conceptualization, design and engineering development of a wide range
of medical, consumer and industrial products. Manta is a fun, creative

Responsibilities:=09

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for managing and
actively participating in all aspects of engineering product
development programs. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned engineer
with strong technical skills and experience managing the development
of electro-mechanical products from concept through production. He or
she must have the ability to think creatively and analytically to
develop exceptional design solutions, and the mechanical skills to
design at the detail level using CAD tools. The candidate should have
project management skills that enable them to lead project teams, and
proactively manage project resources, budgets and schedules.

Major focus of activities will be:
=E2=80=A2 Lead and be a key active participant in product development proje=
cts and teams
=E2=80=A2 Managing engineering projects with accountability for deliverable
quality, schedules and budgets.
=E2=80=A2 Perform engineering analysis, testing and 3D CAD design activitie=
s
=E2=80=A2 Interface with clients, vendors and consultants
=E2=80=A2 Coordinate and personally execute mechanical design activities us=
ing
ProEngineer and Solidworks CAD systems
=E2=80=A2 Prepare and proactively manage project budgets
=E2=80=A2 Adhere to disciplined design process using design controls, FMEA,
rapid prototyping and design reviews.
=E2=80=A2 Support sales and marketing activities, including client presenta=
tions and
proposal generation.

Qualified candidates will have strong technical and analytical skills,
experience with all major production processes, experience in
successfully executing electro-mechanical design projects from
conception to full-scale production, excellent communication and
leadership skills, a personal commitment to quality, customer service
and creative design solutions, and a proven track record of successful
product development projects.


Specific Skills
=E2=80=A2 B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Advanced technical degree is desi=
rable.
=E2=80=A2 3-5+ years mechanical design experience and 2+ years project
management experience.
=E2=80=A2 Strong technical and analytical skills
=E2=80=A2 Experience with all major production processes, including plastic
and metal fabrication methods.
=E2=80=A2 Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
=E2=80=A2 Experience in successfully executing electro-mechanical design
projects from conception to full-scale production.
=E2=80=A2 ProEngineer, Solidworks and Mechanica experience is a definite pl=
us.
=E2=80=A2 Personal commitment to quality, customer service and creative des=
ign solutions
=E2=80=A2 Proven track record of successful product development projects
=E2=80=A2 Experience with design and documentation control requirements (FD=
A, ISO etc).
