Job Description:


As a Design Leader, you will be responsible for designing the caller
experience for IVR systems where the interfaced needs to be
comfortable and intuitive, while addressing Business, Client and
caller expectations for a human-like dialog that are exacting and
far-ranging, but which are often held subconsciously. You will work
on a team of colleagues and subject matter experts to discover user
requirements, and to match these needs against business/client goals,
as well as strengths and limitations of the technology. You will
validate functionality, design callflows, script dialog, define
grammars, tune, conduct usability tests and direct voice talent to
exacting levels of detail in order to realize applications that =E2=80=9Cge=
t
the job done=E2=80=9D with a minimum of fuss while nevertheless displaying
flair and personality. As the Design Leader, you will need to learn
quickly about new caller populations, and work effectively with new
Business Partner on each new engagement, while simultaneously working
toward the Business=E2=80=99s financial goals and remaining the authority o=
n
best practices in user-centered design. You will need to move quickly
and easily from one engagement to the next, and be comfortable
multi-tasking.

Responsibilities:

=E2=80=A2 Serve as the User Interface lead on Global IVR initiatives
supporting our Business and Client needs.

o Discover and analyze applications requirements from the Business,
Client and the caller=E2=80=99s perspective

o Characterize, in detail, archetypes for callers and a persona for
the system being built

o Create effective speech and touch-tone user interface designs
including call flow, dialogs, and prompts to accomplish the
requirements

o Assist in implementing these designs, including interacting with
associate designers and developers, directing voice talents, and
performing usability tests

o Analyze performance of the user interface in the field and
recommend specific changes to improve caller satisfaction and
transaction completion (Tuning).

=E2=80=A2 Use your experience on your specific projects to augment our
evolving body of best practices.

=E2=80=A2 Represent our UI approach and philosophy to our Business partner=
s
in the =E2=80=9Csales cycle=E2=80=9D, and assist in the design and creation=
of
compelling proposals and demos.

Who you are:

You must supply the following credentials:

=E2=80=A2 4+ years industry experience in user-centered design

=E2=80=A2 Experience working closely with outside clients and partners, as
well as developers

=E2=80=A2 Native-level English fluency, both written and spoken

=E2=80=A2 BS or equivalent experience in human factors engineering, produc=
t
interface design, cognitive science, experimental psychology, software
design, or a similar degree

=E2=80=A2 Experience in usability testing

=E2=80=A2 Strong presentation skills

=E2=80=A2 Creativity and a sense of fun

=E2=80=A2 Be able to work with a minimum amount of direct supervision

In addition, first consideration will be given to applicants with
experience in speech-controlled user interface design and/or complex
multimodal design.

Strong candidates will also have the following:

=E2=80=A2 Experience with Natural Language speech user interface design

=E2=80=A2 Demonstrable audio engineering experience and flair

=E2=80=A2 Professional writing experience

=E2=80=A2 Experience working in a recording studio, as or with professiona=
l
voice talent

=E2=80=A2 Programming skills in some 4th generation development language

=E2=80=A2 Fluency in Foreign Langues would be a plus
