*Title: Information Architect*
Information Architect (User Experience) is responsible for determining how
our customer facing, transactional web-based application user interfaces
should work. Within a core design team He/She will create the concepts,
flows, and prototypes alongside the User Interface Designer and UI
engineers. He/She will partner with the software architects and engineers to
propose solutions that enrich our Customers’ our interactions through Iron
Mountain’s primary service delivery platforms. He/She will have a deep
understanding of B2B web-based workflow application design and development.
He/She is responsible for consulting with product management and business
leaders about their business goals, and for proposing solutions that meet
both users' and business needs. The individual will organize functionality
by creating site blueprints/wireframes, nomenclature for users and
navigation systems that support users' needs. The individual analyzes,
develops and refines user tasks/processes, and collaborates with the design
and development teams to build user interfaces.
The candidate will guide and teach Information Architects and peers and give
effective feedback. The position requires collaboration with user research,
and the integration of research methods including content and task analysis,
usability testing, and stakeholder interviews to identify problems and
20% Conduct and participate in concept generation activities including the
development of: user profiles, user scenarios, organizational models, task
models and feature lists.
20% Conduct and participate in project definition activities including:
contextual inquiry/design, business requirement gathering, site assessment,
competitive analysis, secondary research, etc.
20% Create process flows, site maps, wireframes, and prototypes that will
advance the company's user experience design and development mode.
10% Present chosen design to project and business teams for review.
10% Design interactive prototypes that demonstrate the team’s vision to the
business and customers.
10% Support the rapid iteration and evaluation of product usefulness via
10% Work with engineering leads to determine efficacy of given solution.
*KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES*
· 6+ years web-based information architecture or interaction design
experience including the design of B2B transactional workflow applications.
· Experience in user research observation and translating user
research into design decisions.
· Experience with Axure, Visio, Morae
· Internet usability/user interface best practices.
· Information process flow definition and improvement background.
· Exceptional information presentation (graphic and written)
· Experience with prototyping tools to guide selection and
