Reporting to the SVP & Director of Higher Education Learning
Technologies, this position
drives effectiveness of Higher Education MyLabs products by building
and directing the user
interface design vision and roadmap for shared MyLab teaching and
learning features and user
experience. Pearson MyLabs are innovative programs with a rapidly
growing list of product
series and individual titles that incorporate a rich and diverse
ecosystem of technologies, which
are united by a common set of product and distribution models. This
position joins the MyLab
Program Manager group in leading a strong design process for
excellence across the product
suite, focusing on instructor and student ease of use and successful
innovations that can be
shared across the suite. This person leads the process for
implementing cross-platform design
standards via a shared workflow, shared design patterns, creative
collaboration, product suite
brand management, and support and guidance of UI/UX designers in our
coordinated MyLab
platform and technology teams.

Key Responsibilities:
' Ability to lead design processes, articulate and facilitate design
discussions across learning
platforms and with product and business teams
' Provide vision for cross-team design collaboration and lead user
experience design projects for
shared MyLab features and capabilities in Higher-Ed MyLab/Mastering
learning applications
' Provide hands-on design development, as needed, during key phases of
design brainstorming,
kick-offs, and workflow processes
' Manage in-house UI designers, outside consultants, and vendors, as required
' Consult and collaborate with MyLab product managers and UI Designers
on design of product-
specific features
' Guide in implementation of Universal Design Principles and
accessibility compliance and
internationalization principles

' 5-10 years' design or art direction management experience; team
building, and supportive
culture of innovation
' Must possess experience developing strategic branding and/or design
guidelines, preferably
across multiple products in a family
' 5 years' web product user experience design, including all stages
and phases from vision to
' ADA accessibility compliance and internationalization
' MFA desirable; BA/BS or higher in Graphic Design, Information
Design, or other visual arts
' Strong presentation and written communication skills
