Jennifer,
I'm afraid in the UK antibiotics have to be given by a vet and aren't available over-the-counter. On the plus side, it doesn't normally cost a great deal of time or money to acquire them via a vet.
I hope your gerbil gets better soon =)

Subject: [GML] Bird antibiotics available in UK?
Date: Mon, 24 Mar 2008 18:20:05 +0000
Greetings,
I am a new Uk resident and was wondering if bird antibiotics are
available here over-the-counter as they are in the US. I can't seem to
locate them and have a gerbil with a respiratory infection - so if you
have suggestions for possible places to get them that would be great.
Many thanks,
Jennifer B
