I have to go back to work tomorrow, but Harley and I had a really
nice day together. He cried in his crate last night. Now, when he's
just a little unhappy, his cry is so high-pitched it sounds like a flock
of seagulls. But when he's really distressed, he sounds like seagulls
in a Hitchcock film. Last night he got so cold that he surpassed
himself. I took him outside and then cuddled him in bed until he warmed
up. But then I fell asleep before he was warm, so we just slept
together for about four hours. He was so good about it, I'm thinking
about letting him do it again tonight. He was playing fetch today and
he comes when he is called. Not bad for a six-week-old puppy, is it?
It's going to be hard on all of us tomorrow... me because I have to
leave him at home, him because he won't have me to sleep on when he's
worn out, and Mom because she's going to have to try to keep him calm in
the crate. I cold eliminate all of that by just taking him to work with
me, but I don't think my boss would appreciate my solution. We'll get
through it, and soon he'll be all settled in and happy to spend the day
with my mom. Enjoy the Giggles!

From Maya - The boys went grocery shopping with me today. Of course
Alex didn't want to go and Charlie was excited about going. Charlie was
nice and pushed the cart in the grocery store and took it back and put
it away at the front of the store. I got in the car and started it up
and an anxious voice from the backseat yelled, "Don't leave without
Charlie!" I asked him why and he said he wouldn't have anyone to duel
with (play Yu-Gi-Oh cards). It's always nice to know what the
priorities are.

I hate doing laundry. I don't separate the colors from the whites.
I put them together and let them learn from their cultural differences.

Does bathing in tomato juice remove the smell of a skunk?
The major molecules that make skunk spray smell are sulfur compounds.
It is a common belief that tomato juice removes the smell, but there is
no scientific evidence to support this claim. The tomato juice probably
just tricks the nose into not recognizing the skunk smell through the
overpowering red gravy scent. One recommended treatment for pets is one
quart 3-percent hydrogen peroxide, one cup baking soda, and one teaspoon
mild dishwashing detergent. People can try the same, but be careful;
the peroxide can have a bleaching effect.
