*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* Welcome to Giggles & Grins! *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
We didn't make it to Gettysburg today since my dad was feeling sick.
Instead, Harley stayed home and chewed on rocks while Sarah and I made
polymer clay beads and Mom made a couple of beaded bookmarks. We don't
know why Harley chews on rocks, but he loves them... them and ants.
Weird dog. This afternoon we went to Ikea to do some shopping and
stopped for an early dinner. Then we went to a friend's house to use
her pool while she and her husband are out of town. Yes, we had
permission; do we look like the type of people who break and enter and
swim?? Tonight we watched Ladder 49, which I found depressing. Harley
liked it though because we played with him all through the movie. He
didn't like the goose, however. It scared him and made him bark at the
TV. He's very sensitive to noises; I blame it on his satellite-dish
ears. Anyway, I guess I'd better get to bed. Enjoy the Giggles!

For her surgery to fuse some vertebrae in her neck, my niece planned
ahead. She knew that she would have to wear a brace with four steel
rods screwed into her skull and attached to a rigid upper-body cast
during her recovery, so she brought to the hospital several sweatshirts
that were cut to fit over these appliances.
On her first trip out of her hospital room, she ventured to the
cafeteria wearing a shirt bearing the message, "I'd lose my head if it
wasn't screwed on." ~~Reader's Digest

Every evening, a mother and her young son knelt down beside his bed
so he could say his prayers. One night, obviously bored with the same
old prayer, the little boy earnestly prayed, "Now I lay me down to
sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep. If I should die before I wake -
can I have breakfast with You in the morning?"

I get no respect. I had a blind date. I waited two hours on the
corner. A girl walked by. I said, "Are you Louise?"
She said, "Are you Rodney?"
I said, "Yeah."
She said, "I'm not Louise."

Dating was so much easier when we were younger because we all spoke
the same cryptic code and understood the rules of engagement. "Shelly,
ask Suzie to ask Mary to ask Mike to ask Billy if he likes me. But tell
her not to let him know that I like him. Well, okay, she can tell Billy
that I like him, but not that I LIKE him, LIKE him."

Fun Fact of the Day
In 2002, dog killed more people in the U.S. than the Great White
shark has killed in the past 100 years.

Useless Trivia
The waste produced by one chicken in its lifetime can supply enough
electricity to run a 100-watt bulb for 5 hours.
The Queen termite can live up to 50 years and have 30,000 children
every day.
Ants can live completely submerged underwater for up to 2 days.
The average flea can jump up to 350 times its own length. To match
that a human would have to jump 1,000 feet.
At birth, bear cubs weigh between 1/2 - 1 pound.
