*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*     Welcome to Giggles & Grins!   *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

Every time I think about sitting down and sending one of these, I am
either already late to work or I'm falling asleep at the keyboard.
Today I'm not quite asleep or late for work... yet... so here I am.
Last weekend we went to see Pirates of the Caribbean 2, of course. I
thought it was ok, but missing the heart of the first one. We also went
to downtown DC and went through the Air and Space Museum and the Natural
History Museum. The first one is about the same as always and the
second one has changed dramatically. They've condensed the mammals
section into a bunch of cold, glass cages instead of the old
diorama-style exhibits. You can see the animals better, but it's not
the same. I don't like change very much. Last night, Sarah and I and
the dogs went for a three-mile walk on the rail trail. Next time I
would wear more comfortable shoes and remember to take a water bowl for
the dogs. Harley did just fine keeping up with us, although I did carry
him for about a quarter of a mile. The vet yelled at me for spoiling
him, but I really don't. I hate it when people treat tiny dogs as
stuffed animals rather than dogs. Tomorrow we're trying for Gettysburg
again. Hopefully, this time we'll actually get there. We're going to
take Harley with us, so that should be fun. Well, I'd better go get
ready for work. It's been fun chatting.... Enjoy the Giggles!

My boyfriend and I were both out of town on business for the day, and
we had agreed to meet for drinks back in Charlotte, NC., when we
returned that evening. But when I went to the Atlanta airport to catch
my flight home, bad weather had played havoc with flight schedules. I
decided to accept Delta's offer of a free flight in exchange for
delaying my return.

I phoned my boyfriend's house and left a message canceling our date
and asking him to please phone me that night in Atlanta at the Ramada
Inn, Room 236. He never called. The next morning I flew back home and
found a message on my answering machine. "Hi, it's me," my boyfriend's
voice said. "I won't be able to make it tonight after all. My connector
flight was overbooked and I gave up my seat for a free ticket. I'm
stuck in Atlanta. Call me when you get in. I'm at the Ramada, Room
136." ~~Reader's Digest

I was a human fly. I didn't climb buildings. I just went to picnics
and bothered people.

This is a fairly new author I've discovered who writes these silly, fun
mysteries about a hairdresser turned reporter named Bubbles Yablonsky.
You should definitely check them out.

Hometown Pass - http://www.hometownpass.com/
We used this last week when we went to downtown DC. It gives you a
discount on things like the DC Ducks tour and the Old Town Trolley Tour.
If you live near DC, Boston, Key West, San Diego, Savannah or St.
Augustine, check this out.

George's wife was worried about her husband playing ball on Sunday.
She searched through the Bible for direction but could find nothing.
Finally she went to her pastor. "Is it a sin for George to play ball on
Sunday?"

To which the minister replied, "It's not a sin, but the way he plays,
it IS a crime!"

I'm seeing a new girl now. She's fantastic. It's mostly through the
window.

In my life I've been through plenty. When I was three years old, my
parents got a dog. I was jealous of the dog, so they got rid of me.

                 Fun Fact of the Day

Nose prints are used to identify dogs, much like humans use
fingerprints.

                     Useless Trivia

A kangaroo can't jump unless it's tail is touching the ground.
Kangaroos and emus cannot walk backwards, and are on the Australian
coat of arms for that reason.
The Australian emu holds the land speed record for birds (31 mph).
A kangaroo can jump up to 3 meters high and leap up to 8 meters.

If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where
they went.
