*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* Welcome to Giggles & Grins! *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
Friday night we went to the Medieval Times dinner and show. Wow!
It's hard not to have a good time when you are watching attractive young
men with long hair, wearing armor and riding beautiful horses.
Saturday, Gettysburg was hot, hot, hot, but I had Harley with me, so it
was fun. Sarah and I went to a birthday party for my friend and
ex-writing-teacher that night at a German Polka hall. Even without
Harley, I had a great time. Sunday we went to Six Flags but it was kind
of a bust. Most of the rides weren't working and the few that were,
weren't working well. I got a nice bright sunburn out of it, too. Last
night Sarah and I took Harley back for more shots. He's only 7 pounds
so they're breaking the shots up as much as they can. I told the people
at the front desk that I did NOT want to see Dr. Bauer again and so
Harley got seen by Dr. Smith, a woman vet. She was very sympathetic to
my problems with Harley and let me hold him while she gave him his shots
and examined him. He was much calmer and a lot less scared, except when
Dr. Bauer came in the room to get something. When Harley saw him, he
ran and hid behind me. I think that this idiot was just flat-out wrong
in his treatment of my dog and won't admit it. Harley is MORE scared of
people after his rough handling than he was before. I was especially
frustrated to see a sticker on Harley's chart saying "Caution, will
bite!" Harley did not try to bite anyone, but they muzzled him anyway
and put this sticker on his chart. I am so glad I switched to this
other vet. He'll never like her as long as she's sticking things into
him, but maybe he won't be quite so scared. Sarah went to work with me
to work today. I'm sure she was bored silly, but it was fun having her
there. On the way home we ran into a major rain, hail and lightning
storm. I'm not sure if it would have been better or worse if we had
been driving, but we had taken the train. Thankfully, we had driven to
the train station, so we didn't have to ride the bikes home in the heat
and the rain. Tonight we went to Brusters for ice cream and I ran into
a dog obedience and agility instructor. I got her number and I plan on
calling her to get referrals for good classes for Harley. Life is just
too busy these days. Enjoy the Giggles!

Our daughter Wendy was at bat for her softball league when her coach
gave these instructions: "A soon as you get on first, prepare for the
next batter to bunt. There won't be a signal, so be ready."
The pitcher threw the ball, and Wendy hit a home run. As she rounded
the plate to win the game, her coach yelled, "Well, you sure blew that
play!"

I could have been a doctor, but there were too many good shows on TV.

A man called his doctor and said, "Doctor, it appears that my wife
has come down with a case of laryngitis."
"Bring her into the office, then," the doctor said, "and I'll see
what I can do to treat the condition."
"Actually, I was hoping you could tell me how to prolong it."

I have a dog and I've trained him to go on the paper. Now I just need
to train him to wait until I finish reading it.

I hate the doctor's guts. Comes out in his white smock with his
pencils of knowledge in his pocket. Gives me useless advice every time.
"Doc, my leg hurts."
"Really? Keep off it."
"Thanks for the hot tip, Quincy. If you hadn't told me that I would
have jumped up and down on it for an hour. How much do I owe you,
fountain of all wisdom?"

Fun Fact of the Day
Pixie, a Siberian Husky, gave birth to 7 puppies, one of which was
bright green.

If it wasn't for dogs, some people would never go for a walk.
