Allegra -

A slow reply (just got back to town.) Your project interests me.

So far I have created only one web-comic. It was not a success (but again,
it was my first try.) "Feet First Comics," an educational comic on the
environmental consequences to consider when choosing between a walkable
neighborhood and a sprawl development, has moved to:
http://plonenw.onenw.org/external_files/feetfirst/comics/.

Leonard Rifas

Subject: {GNIE-L} anyone home?

Hello, my name is Allegra May and I see this list has been inactive
since October 2005. Perhaps the list has migrated to another host or
location? Please let me know!

My interest in this list is that I am a web developer with an education
background and I've developed a web-based application for learning
languages and literacy, called Speaking Words.

I'm eager to combine Speaking Words (users touch a word on a web page to
hear it speak) with graphic novels/stories on the web, to create a new
form of exciting language and literacy material for older learners (Jr.
High through adult). I think this could be a wonderful type of language
material for reluctant readers, ESL/ELL students, and people with
learning delays.

If this list is still active, I would love to have feedback from you,
and I'm looking for partners, collaborators, and contacts to make
speaking graphic novels happen. And my apologies if broaching an
entrepreneurial adventure is an inappropriate use of the list.

Allegra
