AARP is aware of the magnitude of issues and challenges that many of
today's grandparents experience, and your comments are useful as we
gather information to increase awareness of grandparent rights,
raising grandchildren, and in developing future programs.
Through the AARP Grandparent Information Center (GIC), there are a
variety of resources to assist grandparents, including:
Information and Referral - We can refer you to appropriate state and
local agencies such as legal assistance or area agencies on aging and,
in some states, groups focusing on grandparent visitation problems
across the nation. Search the AARP Webplace for Grandparents at
www.aarp.org/grandparents or call our toll-free number,
1-800-424-3410, and an AARP Member Service Associate will assist you.
The Webplace contains many helpful tips for grandparents as well.
Attached is a listing of several publications available from AARP that
may be of interest and help to you. Here are a couple of options for
ordering the publications. Just be certain to include the title,
stock number, and your complete name and mailing address.
1. Call 1-800-424-3410 and ask a Member Service Associate to send to
out to you
2. Send an e-mail to Mem-@AARP.org
