Kiss My Grits!  Topica Editorial

With some foods, it is possible to be indifferent. You try it, you don't
love it, you don't hate it. You wouldn't go out of your way for it, but
if it shows up on a plate in front of you, it doesn't make you queasy.

In this Yankee's experience, grits are not one of those things. You love
'em (mostly if you're from south of the Mason-Dixon line) or you hate
'em (north of same line), but there's no in between.

Taking a guess that at least a few of you out there are devoted fans of
grits, I've found a web page that shares your fondness. Not
surprisingly, it is called Grits.com. Here, you can find out what
exactly grits are and what the difference is between the hominy and corn
varieties. There are grits cookbook reviews and links to other grits and
food-related sites. And of course, there are the obligatory grits
recipes. The site has more than just grits recipes though -- anyone who
is a fan of southern U.S. cooking will be happy with the offerings here.
In other words, there's something here for both the lovers and the
haters of the humble little grit.
