PROJECT BEGIN and END DATES:
-- 9/01/09 to 5/30/10
NUMBER OF CLASSROOMS:
-- No limit
AGE RANGE:
-- 7 to 10 years
TARGET AUDIENCE:
-- International: Canada; Mexico; United States
PROJECT SUMMARY:
-- Local Native American history is a fairly common unit in grades
2-4. Some fellow 3rd grade teachers in different states (CT., GA. IL.,
and southern CA.) and in Canada thought it would be exciting for our
students to share their learning with other classes around the country.
One of the primary objectives would be to compare how the natural
resources and climate of an area influenced local Native American
lifestyle (food, clothing, and housing, etc.).
The collaboration will be done through a wiki:
http://nativeculture.pbworks.com/
We are aiming for late Nov/Dec, but if you cover the unit at another
time that is fine.
If you cover Native Americans and are interested in participating or if
you have any questions, please contact me. Thanks!
