FULL PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
-- This Internet-based multidisciplinary collaborative project will
enrich primary student's learning experiences through "unique and
compelling" applications of instructional technology. In particular,
this
project taps into some of the exciting new applications of the Internet
in
education by having primary students from around the world collaborate
on an
investigation of the planet they live on. Through the sharing of their
local
environments students will learn about exciting places all around the
world!
OBJECTIVES:
-- This Internet-based collaborative project will allow your students
to share information about the plants, animals and non-living objects
found
in their schoolyard environment with other students from around the
country
and the world. The project has been developed for elementary level
students
in grades 1 to 6 but is open to anyone who is interested. The project
will
span a wide range of subject areas including: science, math, language
arts,
reading, geography and social studies and is flexible in regards to how
it
can be implemented. If you are interested in the project lesson plans,
implementation suggestions, standards information, etc, please go to the
