PROJECT DETAILS
---------------
PROJECT LEVEL:
-- Basic Project
CURRICULUM AREAS:
-- Mathematics; Science; Community Interest
TECHNOLOGIES USED:
-- Database: data, analysis
COLLABORATION STYLES:
-- Information Exchange; Pooled Data Analysis
FULL PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
-- Do you know how much water you use every day? Would you be
surprised to learn that the
average American uses between 80-100 gallons of water per day? Do you
think people in
other parts of the world use more or less water than Americans? Well,
this collaborative project
will help you find out the answers to these questions. Students will
determine their average
daily water use and submit their results to the project database. By
reviewing data on water
usage from people around the world students will be able to see how
their water use compares
to others and determine what they might do to conserve water.
OBJECTIVES:
-- Students will discover if certain areas or countries use more or
less water than Americans
and identify ways that water can be conserved. Students will also learn
how to conduct a research experiment using the Scientific Method.
