Gibson Songbird? Question.....

Hello friends, though I have dabbled with a few chords in the past, I am
a total novice who would like to learn to play a guitar.
I am considering buying a new one that I would like to keep forever and
the one on my mind is a new Gibson Songbird. I know nothing about it or
how much it would cost; a local dealer is asking (after some haggling)
US $1245 for the guitar plus a case and setup.
I would be thankful if someone would tell me whether this is reasonable
price. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
