Hi Neil
I don't know how many are long your fingers but try to play a classic
acoustic guitar. This kind of guitar is for classic music, nylon strings
and
large neck more than a standars folk or electric guitar. I have a short
fingers and can't play easy it.....
If the classic guitar is little for you, try the 12 strings guitar whit
only
6 strings. The neck of this kind of guitar is normally more large than a 6
string. Try a 6 string bass.
If these kind of instruments don't are good for you ask to musical shop to
meet a liutaio(liutaio in italian languages is the man that build or repair
guitar, violin, bass and so on I don't remember the english word) and he
can
make an istrument for your, maybe will be expencive........ I remember that
in an old picture (XIV or XV century) in an italian museum I saw a kind of
old guitar named liuto "like a big mandolin" that had a very large neck. If
you know the movie "YESSONG" Steve HOVE (the guitar man of pop band named
YES) played the "liuto" in a song "Mood for a day".
If you will find anyting tell me. Tanks.
Ciao Giuliano from Italy

Subject: [GUITAR] Buying guitar

 Hello,
I've been entertaining the idea of buying a guitar but wondered if there
is one that would be easier for a long fingered person to play?
I've tried standard models and it seems that to get some of the chords
my fingers are getting in the way of each other. I've been told that
there is a type of wide or wider necked guitar that might help solve
this.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
