Please take the time tomorrow, June 4, at 12:00 noon to attend the hearing on the State Health Plan. Call Jaime D'Errico today at 1.800.838.0388 if you plan to attend so that we can coordinate our efforts.
At its June 4 meeting, the Advisory Council on Health Systems Development will hold a hearing to obtain public input on the State Health Plan, which has a stated purpose of improving the allocation and coordination of health care resources. The meeting will take place from 12:00 noon until 4:00 p.m. at the Bureau of Medical Services Office, 442 Civic Center Drive (Route 27), Augusta, in Conference Rooms 1A and 1B. Consumers are scheduled to speak from 12:00 until 1:00.
The Governor's Office of Health Policy and Finance completed a preliminary draft of the State Health Plan and reviewed it with the Advisory Council at the May 18 meeting. A revised draft was posted on-line: http://www.maine.gov/governor/baldacci/healthpolicy/
Please come share your comments with the Advisory Council on June 4. Consumers need to have a voice in Augusta.
* Tell the Council that we need this plan, and we need it now.
* Give the Council some examples of why our constituents need the plan.
* Tell the Council that we look forward to being part of the planning process for the next biennial plan.
