Hi there

Couple of pieces of between-issues news from SFcrowsnest.com - the first
is I have just added a fantasy and science fiction online games arcade
to the Nest over at http://www.sfcrowsnest.com/games/index.php
(alternatively, click the 'Scifi Play' link on the left-nav anywhere on
the main site).

You can now beat your Monday morning global depression economic
woe-filled lunchtime blues by introducing orcs to your bloody axe or
blasting enemy starships to pieces. Your bank of choice will probably
still end up being nationalised, but at least you'll have a high score
to show for it.

The second piece of news is that the David Gemmell Legend Award for
Fantasy has hit the big time with an article on the Guardian newspaper
over at
http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2009/jan/16/david-gemmell-legend-award-sf

This is a story of personal interest to myself as my second SFF novel
from HarperCollins, The Kingdom Beyond the Waves, is one of the novels
on the long-list you can vote online for at
http://gemmellaward.com/page/2323348:Page:6781 (yay).

If you haven't voted yet, do make your voice heard, there's some great
books on the list - including a couple that were vying for my favourite
read of last year (I won't say which, though, you'll have to guess).

Well done, Legend Award people.

See you soon with the February 2009 issue of SFcrowsnest, muchachos.

Stephen
