Hi everyone! As you all know, there is much evidence that homeschooling
gives better results academically as well as socially. As you all also
know, homeschooling does NOT imply that children are kept at home all
the time. A good example of this is the case of Trevor Loflin. In fact,
Travor's family was homeless. Trevor says: "By length of time, the most
frequent place is “camped out”, either in a campground, in a forest, on
a street, or on the property of a friend or relative. We have rented a
house or apartment twice for three months, but couldn't really afford
it. We have stayed temporarily with friends several times. Once, we
stayed several months in a friend’s garage. Once, we stayed several
months in a friend’s R.V."
Trevor says: "Although I have always been “home schooled” in the sense
that I always learned more outside of school than in it, we started
officially home schooling several years ago, when going to a high school
campus (and for my youngest sister, an elementary school campus) started
really getting in the way of our education. We also don't believe that
grouping of peers is a good thing".
Trevor went on to score perfect scores on Scholastic Aptitude Tests when
doing his university entrance exam. For more about Trevor, look at:
