Hello,

I'm starting a project on leaching, in particular effects that N
fertilization and plant cover (plant diversity and biomass)may have on
leaching reduction.

I've thought of installing a drainage system, consisting of a block of
soil (4 m3 aprox) isolated with a poliethilene sheath, and a drainage
pipe at the bottom to collect water outside the block through a
collector, or a "shower drain" in the middle to let water drain to a
container under the block of soil, such as a plastic bottle.

I preffer this system to ceramic cups or other systems which would only
allow me to have an estimation of the soil solution nitrate
concentration. I wonder if it is a good idea or if I'm missing something
substantial.

I hope to hear from you soon.
