Injections shouldn't be painful!

In response to you hijack of Ian's thread (below) I am concerned that you
should have suffered from the needle.
Over the last 10 years I've had TRT in the form of implants, patches,
Sustanon 250 injections, gels, Nebido injections and (as of today) Testogel
again.
You will see from my brief history below I've had a few injections but the
ONLY painful ones were from BLUNT needles. I self injected the Sustanon for
over 3 years, only stopping when gels became available in the UK. The nurse
who taught me how to do it was from the "old" school where you use TWO
needles - ONE to draw up the drug from its vial/ampoule/container and a
SECOND one to perform the injection. The only time the second one hurts is
if it was "burred" during manufacture. I actually looked at the tips of some
needles under the microscope and it is surprising how the tip bends over if
it hits for example the bottom of the ampoule. If you then use that to
inject it rips rather than penetrating the flesh cleanly.
I was pleasnlty surprised when I switched to Nebido in January 2008 and the
nurse said "This is a big (large volume)injection, I'll do it the old way
and use 2 needles". Tehre is bound to be some discomfort when a few
millilitres of foreign fluid are squiretd into your buttocks but I never
felt it was any worse than being smacked with a squash ball. Tender yes,
(and don't lie on that side tonight!) but not unbearable.
Without going in to fine detail:
Implants: GREAT - if you can keep them in / stop them rejecting !
Patches: itchy and uncomfortable (my skin didn't like the adhesive)
Sustanon 250 injections: - massive highs and lows over the 18-21 day cycle
Testogel: even steady daily dose - but messy to apply
Nebido: injections every 10 t0 14 weeks - adverse spotty reaction.
Anyway, that's my rant over. If any of you want any more info, just ask away
- I'm back on the gel !
Regards to all
Terry
(PS I'm not completely mad - bits of me are missing)

Ian--
sorry to hijack your thread but to answer your question on injections--- I
tried it a couple of years back ( on Gel now) & found it was just far too
painful! I had a jag in the bum which I hardly felt but a few minutes later
it felt like David Beckham had given me his hardest goal kick!
I could hardly walk for a day & a half & there was a massive bruise on my
ass! ( & I dont bruise easily!)
Im also no wimp, I do a manual job in which I often injure myself so I can
take a fair bit of pain!
enjoy!

Hi Guys
Unfortunately I have been taken of the trial for the MD -Lotion due to
thrombophlebitis in my right leg. Meaning the veracious veins I inherited
from my mother and smashing up that leg thirty years ago in a motorcycle
accident, the main vein decided to let go. If I had any, I would say one
of
my nuts has dropped behind the knee, but it is not, so, I have to have
surgery as soon as possible.
Regardless, the trial has been interesting. What with the daily report
forms
to fill in then being a lab rat, for a thirty six hour period where blood
tests are done every four hours, exactly on the minute, meals are served
exactly X amount of minutes after the blood test was very strange. Where
I
was, different trials were under the way. Most who were in there were
backpackers. I bumped into guys from France, Ireland, Canada and the
States
who were touring OZ and were after quick easy money. A bed for a few
nights
and a feed. Now I am back on Testogel .. And what a pain it is. Compared
with the MD-Lotion it is long winded, time consuming and messy. The MD-
Lotion by the way was applied in liquid form under the armpits, done in
seconds. The correct dosage for me was not assessed, though I will add
that
I could feel that my levels were too low, so double dosing with the
product,
would have been awkward. Maybe when it is released different 'strengths'
will be available.
This Thursday I attend a summary of my part in the trial, hand in my
dosage
report and Psychosexual Questionnaire. One thing I noted was that when
my
levels were below one [Oz levels go from seven being very low to a high
of
thirty] nothing rattled me. Maybe it was because I was too tired to be
so.
Once on the lotion, I started to get wound up which I put down to being
still tied and well below what I should be. Now I am back on my normal
dosage I feel much better, though with two packs of the Testolgel I am
still
below the levels that I should be. My last blood test on the gel was 14
and
the Endo wants me to be at least up around twenty. I do too, as I know I
can feel better that I am now. I will be able to have a chat with her on
Thursday.
The conclusion of it all is I am glad I was able to take part in this
clinical trial. The suggestions I was given as to how I might feel being
totally off all replacement for thirty days certainly opened my eyes a
touch
wider and very much helped. It also gave me the insight that there will
always be a better product being developed. For any of you who might in
the
future take part in one, it is not for the money, which ain't much. Do it

be part of something that may one day improve yours or someone else's
future. I have no intention of having the injections, fortnightly or
three
monthly. I think being on the implants put paid to that, but before I
tried
the MD-Lotion I thought Testogel was the bees knees. Boy I can't wait for
the new product to be on the market.
