Hi Ian
My dislike for the injections is just a personal preference, so please do
not be put off. I spent so long going back and forth to the docs for the
implants and getting the time sequence right, I am just over it. The gel for
me, now being second rate to the trial product, is just simplistic. I have
heard from many guys who are on the injections and would have nothing else.
Just go for what YOU are happy with. Anyway what part of Devon do you live.
Val and I spent two years in Plymouth, in fact we got married there
martin.

Hi Guys
Unfortunately I have been taken of the trial for the MD -Lotion due to
thrombophlebitis in my right leg. Meaning the veracious veins I inherited
from my mother and smashing up that leg thirty years ago in a motorcycle
accident, the main vein decided to let go. If I had any, I would say one
of
my nuts has dropped behind the knee, but it is not, so, I have to have
surgery as soon as possible.
Regardless, the trial has been interesting. What with the daily report
forms
to fill in then being a lab rat, for a thirty six hour period where blood
tests are done every four hours, exactly on the minute, meals are served
exactly X amount of minutes after the blood test was very strange. Where I
was, different trials were under the way. Most who were in there were
backpackers. I bumped into guys from France, Ireland, Canada and the
States
who were touring OZ and were after quick easy money. A bed for a few
nights
and a feed. Now I am back on Testogel .. And what a pain it is. Compared
with the MD-Lotion it is long winded, time consuming and messy. The MD-
Lotion by the way was applied in liquid form under the armpits, done in
seconds. The correct dosage for me was not assessed, though I will add
that
I could feel that my levels were too low, so double dosing with the
product,
would have been awkward. Maybe when it is released different 'strengths'
will be available.
This Thursday I attend a summary of my part in the trial, hand in my
dosage
report and Psychosexual Questionnaire. One thing I noted was that when my
levels were below one [Oz levels go from seven being very low to a high of
thirty] nothing rattled me. Maybe it was because I was too tired to be so.
Once on the lotion, I started to get wound up which I put down to being
still tied and well below what I should be. Now I am back on my normal
dosage I feel much better, though with two packs of the Testolgel I am
still
below the levels that I should be. My last blood test on the gel was 14
and
the Endo wants me to be at least up around twenty. I do too, as I know I
can feel better that I am now. I will be able to have a chat with her on
Thursday.
The conclusion of it all is I am glad I was able to take part in this
clinical trial. The suggestions I was given as to how I might feel being
totally off all replacement for thirty days certainly opened my eyes a
touch
wider and very much helped. It also gave me the insight that there will
always be a better product being developed. For any of you who might in
the
future take part in one, it is not for the money, which ain't much. Do it
to
be part of something that may one day improve yours or someone else's
future. I have no intention of having the injections, fortnightly or three
monthly. I think being on the implants put paid to that, but before I
tried
the MD-Lotion I thought Testogel was the bees knees. Boy I can't wait for
the new product to be on the market.
