The primary purpose of the KCA is to demonstrate
that the universe had a
cause of its existence.
And it fails in that regard.
That God is the cause is
| ||then derived from noting |
what properties that cause would have.
And this is one of the weakest spots in the Kalam
argument. NO theist has ever been able to provide a
coherent explanation of how a cause of the universe,
even supposing it did have a cause, would have to
possess anything like the properties attributed to
God. They can't even show that the "cause" would have
to be alive or conscious, let alone omnipotent,
omniscient, or omnibenevolent.
