All of you seem to think the Arabs and Muslims are all Evil. That's a
word that really bothers me.

Ian, I must admit that I do not fully understand your position. You
appear extremely emotional on this discussion point. There are many
points that I would like to address in your latest note (and yes, I
can see and appreciate that you spent a long time on it). However, as
alluded in my last note, I do not see much value in such
communications as you have apparently thought the way that you have
for a long time.
I did want to address the above point, though, especially given that
you mentioned me wanting a response a few times in your note. First,
I do not think that I am brainwashed by anyone, only that I am making
the only obvious choice. For example, you mentioned the Vietnam war;
while not an active demonstrator, I made my first formal public
demonstration against it in 1966 in a tenth-grade English class (me
and three Quakers) in a poll being conducted by our teacher who had
recently been elected mayor of our town, but still teaching not yet
having taken office.
I would not call all Arabs/Moslems are evil. I would say that all
demonstrate evil who do the following:
-Want all Israelites eradicated from what they call Palestine up to
and including the death of all Jews in the Middle East
-Promote/emotional support suicide murderers to target innocent people
to make political statements.
-Kill their own leaders if they try to compromise with Israel (or do
anything else with which they agree).
-Applaud terrorist events such as 9/11.
Within two years, I suspect that most of our military in the Middle
East will be withdrawn. The primary benefit that they seem to be
serving now is postponing the murder of millions, not thousands, of
people and keeping terrorist acts away from US land. I fear that
delaying murders is the best that we can say because the Arabs are
masters of hate and do not seem willing to change. Until the Arabs can
learn to overcome hate, I do not see how peace can ever come to that
part of the world.
I applaud your military service. I do not know you, but suspect that
ramifications of that service is driving you to react the way that you
are. I doubt that anything that I can write will be of help...probably
only causing you to react all the more.
Anyway, you have my best wishes. I sincerely hope that you find peace
in this issue.
Thanks,

It is true that I am passionate in my feelings because I used to love
the United States. I have felt the way I do since about November 2001
when I read a very short history of Israel and the surrounding countries
in my 1995 Information Please World Almanac. I hardly think reading
that and remembering the newsreels showing the Jewish terrorists chasing
the British out of Palestine would constitute brainwashing.
I applaud you and your stand against the Vietnam War. If I had not been
so brainwashed it would not have taken 3 or 4 years to realize we had no
business in Vietnam. That does not mean you have not been brainwashed
concerning Israel. Perhaps as an atheist you can tell me why Israel
should have been partitioned as a nation in the first place.
There are very few Arabs/Muslims (percentage wise) who want all Jews in
or out of the Middle East eradicated. It may come as a surprise to you
but there is a sizable (25,000) Jewish community in Iran living very
peaceably. The only restriction is that they cannot visit relatives in
Israel. They can move there if they so desire but they do not want to.
[Now remember that we as free Americans cannot visit Cuba.] Without
being more specific I am not sure who all you mean when you speak of the
suicide murderers. The first thing you should remember is that the
Palestinians do not have tanks and helicopter gun-ships to combat the
Israelis, Americans, and the Iraqi puppet government. Now if you were
chased or scared out of your home and such as the Palestinians were and
a nice Jewish family moved in, I doubt if you would consider the nice
Jewish family as being innocent. You should also remember that it is
the US and people like you and me who were funding Israel so personally
I can’t blame a few brave souls who gave their lives on 9-11 to even the
with the evil US. I also do not blame them for attacking the military
(US & Iraqi), police, politicians or any other collaborators. What I do
not understand or condone is the religious bombings.
Prior to the US invasion of Iraq I said there were no WMD, ties to al
Qaida, no threat to the US, and that Iraq needed a tyrant like SH to
hold the country together. All have proved true and if you or anyone
else thinks Iraq is in better shape now than under SH you are too far
gone for me to talk to. Let me know now and I will not waste any more
of my time. All you have read, listened to and watched is American and
maybe British news and you say you have not been brainwashed. There are
hateful Arabs and there are hateful Jews and there are hateful
Christians and hateful atheists (look in the mirror). Our military will
not be out of the Middle East in two years and probably not in 10 years.
¡WATCH!
Do not be so fast to applaud my military service. I spent the Korean
War on the beaches of Puerto Rico . See, I have sense of humor
too. :-)
