The Snowbank Hiking Trail is also closed from the Snowbank/Kekekabic
Trailhead north along Snowbank, east around Wooden Leg Lake, around Grub
Lake, south to and including the Boot Lake portage.

Note also that beginning Thursday, September 6, 2012, campfires, charcoal
or wood-burning camp stoves will be allowed ONLY between 7 pm and midnight
within the entire BWCAW. Use of gas and propane cook stoves is allowed at
any time of day. And the Forest Service is closing the area surrounding
Ensign Lake until further notice. This includes the following lakes and all
portages leading into these lakes: Ensign, Splash, Spigot, Perdu, Trident,
Frog, Vera, the un-named pond north of Vera (Sections 1 and 36), Shallow,
Arkose, Neglige, Trader, Missionary, Explorer, Bedford, and the un-named
lake between Explorer and Bedford, Wooden Leg, Grub, Boot, Haven, Abinodji,
Swing, Gibson, and Ashigan. While all BWCAW entry points remain open,
wilderness visitors may need to adjust travel routes, especially those
traveling through Snowbank or Moose Lakes.
