+++MY TAKE ON LINDA MCMAHON'S BID FOR U.S. SENATE AND WHY HER
AFFILIATION WITH WWE WON'T HURT HER AT ALL. There are those who think
Linda's association with World Wrestling Entertainment is going to
cripple her political aspirations, I don't see it that way. In fact, I
see it the other way. Even if her opponents attempt to pain a negative
picture of all of the aspects of WWE that have been negative in recent
times that isn't going to negatively hurt Linda but in fact allow her to
reach out to make counter points to show why she should be elected. In
my opinion if they try to asssociate her with the negative aspects of
drug use within WWE, she can simply point towards the NBA, NFL, MLB and
suggest this isn't a problem isolated to WWE (pro wrestling) but is a
problem that plagues all aspects of sports, including Hollywood and if
she was elected it would give her more power to deal with a problem she
has FIRST HAND experience with dealing with as a CEO of a huge
entertainment company. Thus she turns that negative in to a positive
that gives her EXPERIENCE with a MAJOR issue that other politicians DO
NOT have experience with dealing with. There is no way her opponents
would ever be able to prove or even associate her job as WWE CEO with
her over looking this issue since WWE has a testing policy in place, put
in place during her watch.
If they attempt to bring up her hubsands past with the steroid trial
brought against him by the U.S. Government, again this is not going to
devastate her career as a politician because ample evidence exists to
prove the Government had a vendetta against Vince McMahon and most of
the charges were outright dismissed and laughed out of court by a judge
and the others he was exonerated on. So she can dispell all of those
controversies by saying that in America you have a day in court and if
you win that day in court then you did nothing wrong. But the thing
these negative attacks provide for Linda is a built in security blanket
that other politicians simply don't have the luxory of having. She
can't be called on a lot of things that are negative that other
politicians can be called upon because she has experience with dealing
with these issues first hand and dissolving them quickly. The only
thing Linda has to concern herself about is the fact that she lied on a
document when she applied to the Board of Education in Connecticut and
she had to admit her mistake and then it was forgotten and she won that
bid to join the board. I suppose that one mistake could come back to
huant her and time will tell if it does or does not in her U.S. Senate
bid.
+++ SMACKDOWN THOUGHTS. Batista debuted on Smackdown. Reason he was
moved was because Jeff Hardy was leaving, Misterio was suspended and the
needed a mainstay babyface on the brand since Undertaker's not ever
going to be full time with the brand anymore (and shouldn't be).
Batista was interrupted by Chris Jericho. That set up their main event
match.
John Morrison beat Mike Knox with Ziggler doing commentary. I did not
like the fact they sacrificed Knox. Morrison got the crowd to chant Mr.
Ziggles at Ziggler.
Josh Matthews interviewed Scott Armstrong who said he had never been
asked to do anything like what he was asked to do at the PPV but he was
told how the match would end before it ended. He said it made him sick
to his stomach and he is not proud of what he had to do but he had to do
it to save his job.
Melina beat Michelle McCool in a non title.
Teddy Long was confronted by Vince who was happy he got Batista on the
brand but not so happy at the Montreal finish. Vince wanted Teddy to
explain why he did to the fans and indicated he thought he was in
jeopardy when UT got a hold of him.
Long tells the fans he did what he did to save his job and did not want
to be unemployed and he was sorry for what he had to do. He had security
with him so UT could not get at him and they walked him from the ring to
his limo. He got in and told the driver to drive and it turned out to be
UT, bye bye Teddy.
Cm Punk promo about Jeff Hardy, drugs and straight edge.
Hart Dynasty beat Cryme Tyme.
Melina goes to Maria's dressing room and there are hundreds of photo's
of Ziggler hugging McCool. Melina takes them down but Maria walks in and
thinks Melina put them up. Maria tells Melina she is done with her and
the bad acting continues as the days of our lives pass.
Kane injures Khali in their match and Khali leaves on a stretcher.
Charlie Haas v. Ron Killings never happens as Drew McIntyre comes down
and tells Haas that Killings had an accident backstage so that meant
Haas won by forfeit and then destroyed Haas. Drew is going to be a big
star.
Batista beat Chris Jericho in the main event.
Interview with Big Show in the back setting up a Show v. Batista match
for next week. If they get Batista a big time partner then I could see
them switching the tag titles to Batista and his partner to have them
work both shows. But it has to be someone that is a draw and I can't
think of anyone on Smackdown so it would almost have to be a RAW star.
Although Misterio and or Edge would work out but Edge won't be back for
a while.
+++ RAW TONIGHT AT 9PM ON USA NETWORK. Cedric the Entertainer is the
guest host of the show tonight which likely means heavy on the comedy
sketches. They'll build towards the PPV and that means heavy on John
Cena v. Randy Orton & DX v. Rhodes & DiBiase.
+++ VINCE AUTHORIZED THE JEFF HARDY SHOT. Cm Punk did not go in to
business for himself when he mentioned Jeff Hardy's implosion in his PPV
promo and it was written by Vince McMahon himself, likely to send a loud
message to Jeff and everyone within the locker room. No longer is the
company going to hide and shy away from this and the reality of Hardy's
arrest was part of the storyline told by Cm Punk because it quite
frankly worked. A LOT may consider this as the company throwing one of
their own under the bus, but the truth is that Hardy did that to himself
and WWE being open about it makes all of the sense in the world. I
think the problem some are going to still have is that by using it in
the storyline context it sort of makes it seem as if the company may
have been trying to convince some fans in some circles that the arrest
wasn't real. I can see that argument but if anyone thinks that way in
2009, they might want to invest in some prime real estate land that I
own.
+++ CM PUNK UPDATE. The original plan was to have Undertaker work a
program with Cm Punk (short term) to help promote him to a new level and
that Punk would debut a bodyguard character to watch his back during the
feud. The first thought was to put Ezekiel Jackson with Punk but the
feeling is that Jackson is going to be a prime time player down the road
if he gets the right seasoning and they feel that putting him on ECW to
get that seasoning means more then putting him back in the stand-still
at ringside role of being a bodyguard. The new plan seems to be to take
Festus off of RAW and put him back on Smackdown with a new gimmick that
plays in to the old one he previously has where Punk is controlling him
through alterining his medication. Festus would then provide Punk with
assistance during his program against UT (which only makes sense and
could even lead to them doing Festus v. UT at WM).
+++ NAMES ON THE HOGAN TOUR ARE: Ric Flair in the top spot against
Hogan, Brutus Beefcake, Rumaga (Eddie Fatu using his Umaga gimmick),
Vampire Warrior (Dave Heath), Kishi (Rikishi), The Nasty Boys, Jimmy
Hart and Lacey Von Erich (which means they must have another woman in
mind unless she is wrestling a man).
Dates currently cleared are 11/21 in Melbourne, 11/24 in Perth, 11/26 in
Brisbane and 11/28 in Sydney.
Tickets: Diamond Floor $380, Platinum Floor $170, Platinum Reserved
$170, Gold Reserved $109, Silver Reserved $95 and they also plan on
doing meet and greet sessions. The current theory is that Hogan is in
such demand that these prices are not insane, time will tell. i
personally think they are insane prices for a tour that involves talent
that are almost in the grave (did I just write that?).
+++ TNA SIGNS LACEY. Lacey Von Erich agreed to a contract with TNA and
that pretty much puts the Wrestlelicious project to rest. WWE had her
on their radar at one time but passed on her since they didn't think she
was polished enough.
+++ LILLIAN GLAD TO MEET YOU, BUT ADIOS. Lillian's last night with the
company is tonight and after tonight we will either have Fink back or
get a new female ring announcer to take over for Lillian. Lillian was
with WWE for ten years and I hope they have a tribute to her tonight on
RAW. WWE is apparently in negotations with someone to take over her
spot and it would be neat if they introduced that individual tonight
while Lilian was exiting so she could pass the mic.
+++ CAN YA SAY KANYE TO WWE? There's a wild rumor floating around that
WWE wishes to jump on the band wagon and bring in Kanye West to work a
program and lead to a high profile match at either WM or a PPV before
WM. The claim is he was offered $10 million to work with WWE (which
ranks right up there with Maywather's $20 million). It would make sense
for WWE to bring him in and use him on a show like The Slammy's near the
end of the year so he could to what he did all over again in a WWE
setting and then be thrashed for it.
+++ TNA PPV RESULTS. Sarita & Taylor Wilde beat Velvet Skye & Madison
Rayne to win the diva tag titles, Hernandez beat Eric Young, Samoa Joe
beat Chris Daniels for the X Title, Pope D'Angelo Deinero beat Suicide,
ODB beat Cody Deaner, Kevin Nash beat Abyss to win the Legends Title,
Beer Money & Team 3D beat Scott Steiner & Booker T & Briish Invansion in
war games, Bobby Lashley beat Rhino and Aj Styles won the TNA Title
beating Kurt Angle, Hernandez, Matt Morgan and Sting.
+++ NEW BOOKING TEAM IN TNA IS? Vince Russo main man with the most
power, Ed Ferrara being brought back in by Russo to be #2 and returning
as Mini Me Jeremy Borash. So what we have here folks in 2009 is the
death of WCW all over again with many of the same players that were in
WCW when Russo murdered it. It somehow boggles my mind that Dixie
Carter is not able to learn from WCW's mistakes and not give total
control of a guy that has no clue as to what he is doing.
