+++ ECW THOUGHTS. William Regal starts the show in the ring doing a
promo with E. Jackson & V. Kozlov by his side. Say what you want about
Regal's in ring ethic and work but never ever say he is not good on the
mic and very entertain when he is in a role like a GM type role. For
years VKM has been down on Regal's in ring work due to the style he
utilizes but he has always been a driving tv character when push came to
shove and has managed to catch fire when he is on the mic. He has never
fully recovered frim his suspension and that took away his planned push
to the moon that was ushered in through his friendship with HHH. But he
has rebounded nicely to move to the ECW brand to help create new talent
and has been quite entertaining in his ECW run. Regal talked about how
he was not able to make chances to the ECW Title picture and Zack Ryder
came out and said he wanted his planned title rematch and was not going
to allow Regal to take it away again. They argued back and forth until
Christian came out with Tony Atlas and Yoshi Tatsu and a janitor and
said he had proof of how many other people other then them should be
number one contender. He put over that Tatsu had defeated Regal and had
been on a hot winning streak and then said he also ran in to Tiffany in
the back. Tiffany came out to resume her position as GM and said she
had not yet decided who was the #1 contender but Ryder would get his
title rematch and William Regal would take on Yoshi Tatsu and Jackson &
Kozlov would be in tag action next.
Ezekiel Jackson & Vladmir Kozlov beat Tommy Dreamer & Goldust. The
veterans paved the road with gold for the green tag team and made them
look good. This is how the show should be used to present talent to be
ready to make it on the other two brands down the road. Kozlov's road
may not be as paved as Jackson's.
Regal & Tiffany in the back with Regal acting like he's cool with her
decisions but he isn't smiling as he leaves for his match. Can you say
on camera power struggle for power?
Yoshi Tatsu beat William Regal in a nice fun match that put over Tatsu
strong again. They really need to keep doing this and creating relevant
talent for the brand. Regal's foot was under the rope when he got
pinned and Jackson & Kozlov & Regal confronted the ref about that after
the match. I like that disputed finish because it only creates a
situation to have a third match.
Christian beat Zack Ryder by dq when the super heels led by Regal
swarmed the match. Both Christian & Ryder were laid out by the heels by
the end of the show and seemingly setting up a six man with Regal &
Jackson & Kozlov v. Christian & Ryder & Tatsu.
+++ STATUS OF FORMER WORLD CHAMPION THAT QUIT WWE OVER ISSUES INVOLVING
HIS NAME BEING ON A LIST OF TALENT THAT BOUGHT STEROIDS AND SUBSEQUENTLY
BEING SUSPENDED BY WWE FOR IT. Booker T refused to go on in Switzerland
when Scott Steiner's antics caused the fans to toss garbage in to the
ring (including chairs and glass bottles). Then at the Impact taping he
refused to put over Matt Morgan and has been in bitter contract
negotiations with TNA. He has made it clear that he is leaving the
company once his contract ends in the next month or two and has been
attempting to make it known that he wants to return to WWE.
+++ "ROWDY" RODDY UPDATE. The rumors of Roddy Piper having terminal
cancer are not accurate according to his people.
