+++ SMACKDOWN TONIGHT AT 8PM ON MNTV. Rey Misterio v. Batista, Finlay v.
Mike Knox v. Dolph Ziggler to get on team SD, Cryme Tyme v. Hart Dynasy
for spots on the SD team, Matt Hardy v. Eric Escobar with the winner on
the team at the PPV, Ron Killings v. Drew McIntyre with the winner on
the team, The Dirt Sheet with John Morrison & The Miz and more.
+++ SHANE MCMAHON QUITS WWE!!!! OH MY GOD?!? Shane McMahon resigned
from WWE this morning and the story was broke by WWE.COM. Nothing is
being talked about as to why any of this has happened with the staff
working directly under Shane being caught off guard by this decision.
All Shane has said is that he never envisioned working outside of WWE
but sometimes life throws a curve ball and things take an unexpected
turn and this was the most difficult decision that he has ever had to
make. He said it is time for him to move on. He thanked his father for
everything and allowing him to help build WWE in to a global phenomenon
and he thanked the WWE Superstars past and present and lastly the WWE
fans. He concluded he would always love the wrestling business and
remain a fan of it.
My gut here tells me this is not an angle and that Shane may be headed
to help his mother run her political campaign and obviously if that is
what is going to happen then they would not want him connected to WWE in
any form so no one can point their finger at something that happens in
WWE with Shane being part of the organization when it happens. Yet
others think he is going to start his own MMA company and that is why he
left the fold. I have an incredible marketing strategy for a new MMA
company that could use WWE to cross promote itself. I may as well let
the cat out of the bag in this issue a bit later. Yet more think this
is just another angle the restart another brand (ECW) and split it away
from WWE with Shane being the front man for the new group. I don't
think it is an angle but time will certainly tell if it is or isn't.
+++ MY MARKETING STRATEGY. "Turning the WWE Upside Down, MME - Mixed
Martial Arts Entertainment!". All they have to do is turn the current
WWE logo upside down and use that marketing campaign on WWE TV to cross
promote the new MME company (if Shane is starting one up). Calling it
MME, as opposed to MMA, would allow them to change the rules and evolve
the MMA business a bit away from Dana's model. Sort of like what Vince
did with WWF.
+++ KATIE VICK IS SUCH A .. Linda McMahon is paying for the sins of
Katie Vick and her the creative minds behind the gimmick angle that took
place on WWE TV. Democrats in the state of confusion (actually
Connecticutt) pulled out and dusted off the angle to shoot at Linda.
They used links to the angle that still exist on Youtube to put their
point over. Not realizing that they may have accidently gotten WWE some
new viewers who like that sort of tasteless humor.
They also put over the Live Sex Celebration between Lita & Edge on RAW
and the Scott Steiner angle with Stephanie McMahon that appeared to have
Steiner forcing Steph to have sex with him. The story here is they are
saying that Linda as the CEO authorized these things when she was
running the company (which isn't the case but now she has to take the
punch since they claimed she was the one that built WWE).
Linda's people responded by saying that most people understand the
differences between reality and television (reality television?) and
none of this was really happening (well, they didn't say that sometimes
angles that aren't real in wrestling cause them to become real in real
life). I get it. The D's don't get it and actually think Katie Vick is
a real person. Haha. I know they don't but they come off half assed
doing this. Imagine if the CEO of Universal pictures ran for office and
they said, well he made a movie about the KKK, and he made a movie about
prison rape, is this who youy want in office someone that supports
racism and man on man rape? It's absurd.
+++ LAWLER DOOMED TO ANNOY ME ANOTHER FEW YEARS. Lawler came in 5th, so
he's on RAW.
+++ ALBANO UPDATE. He was all over the news, justifiably so! That warms
my heart to know that every walk of life took notice of the news of his
passing. Do you think the same would happen in one of the top stars in
WWE passed on right now? Probably not unless it was a suicide or drug
overdose. Just an obversaion on my behalf that shows that the old guard
got over more with the entire universe then the current one does. HHH
passing away today would only be talked about a lot by the wrestling
community and wouldn't be an issue in TIME Magazine. So I am not
ragging on the new talent coming up but the talent dating back to when
Austin & Rock's runs began. Hell, Even HBK fits in to this category.
Hogan's generation all were more known to the entire universe, even the
midcarders.
