+++ ECW & RAW THOUGHTS. Christian challenged William Regal to a match,
so Regal gets what he wanted all along and accepted the challenge for a
match in England next week. They ought to know that Regal is a face in
England and should book around that being the case. Kozlov & Jackson
were banned from ringside.
William Regal beat Goldust in a solid match to give him momentum heading
in to his match against Christian. Obviously if there is a plan in
place to push Yoshi Tatsu to the top of the brand then it might make
sense to take the belt off Christian next week and put it on Regal as a
transition to getting it to Tatsu and Christian then moving to RAW or
Smackdown would make a lot of sense and I suspect putting him with Edge
against Chris Jericho & Big Show for the tag titles at WM would be the
thing to do.
Shelton Benjamin beat Zack Ryder. They did a skit in the back where Rosa
Mendez was talking to Ryder and he zoned out and was infactuated by her
and did not know how to catch his thoughts. She was then the ring
announcer for the match (and better at it then the new one they have by
the way) and she distracted Ryder and cost him the match.
Paul Burchill challenged Hurricane to mask v. loser leaves town match
for next week. He also is from England so he may be a babyface. I
certainly hope that if Hurricane wins that Burchill is headed to RAW or
Smackdown and handed a nice spot.
Vance Archer (Lance Hoyt from TNA) is doing an 'intense' monster gimmick
and he squashed Logan Jones.
Yoshi Tatsu & Christian beat Jackson & Kozlov and then Regal put
Christian in the Regal stretch to end the show. Nice set up for the UK
ECW show next week but absolutely nothing in regards to putting a foot
foward for Survivor Series and perhaps ECW is knocked off that PPV as
well.
RAW THOUGHTS: Long extended open with Sharon & Ozzy in the ring with his
throne set up. They announced him as the "Prince of Darkness" and The
Miz interrupted. Miz and Sharon then traded back "Really"'s which
became the theme of the segment and was quite annoying. Miz wanted them
to strike the count out win by Evan Bourne from the record books and
then Ted DiBiase & Cody Rhodes came out and they were upset because Kofi
Kingston wrecked the NASCAR they got Randy. Next Big Show came out and
he wanted them to make everyone from RAW come down to the ring and
apologize to him for what they did to him last week. Degeneration X was
out next and whispered things in Ozzy's ear. Ozzy booked Evan Bourne v.
Miz for the U.S. Title and then he booked Kofi Kingston v. Randy Orton
and Big Show v. Chris Jericho v. John Cena. I was particularly upset
that there was no Fozzy reference with Jericho confronting Ozzy.
Miz beat Evan Bourne to retain the U.S. Title in a good match. It is a
shame that Bourne is worthless now since he has been losing every single
time on RAW since he came from ECW. But they were not about to change
the title again and doing a screw job finish happened last week.
Josh Matthews interviewed Sheamus who said Ozzy's career should have
been over years ago and tonight Jamie Noble's will ne over. They have
something special with this guy.
Sheamus destroyed Jamie Noble and Noble gets the Mick Foley circa WCW
award when Foley was power bombed on the floor by Vader. Sheamus power
bombed Noble hard on the floor and he sold it like his back was broken.
He was stretchered out and Sheamus has arrived.
Kofi Kingston beat Randy Orton by dq when Legacy ran in and Ozzy &
Sharon book a six man immediately with Kofi & MVP & Mark Henry v. Orton
& Legacy which is won the babyface team when Henry hits the slam on
Rhodes.
They did a segment called "RAW's Got Talent" which was horrid, until
Chris Masters saved it but he wasn't booked to save it so Lawler put the
kabosh on the shoot momentum he had for the segment and they went home
with the lamness that was booked. Santino came out dressed as Ozzy and
said he was going to bite the head off of a bat.... man and bit the heat
off of a batman doll toy and then Chris Masters came out and made his
pecks dance to Crazy Train which got pops from the audience and
Osbournes. Sharon loved him and said he was gorgeous. Then Jillian
Hall & Chavo sang "Close Your Eyes Forever" and Ozzy said he should
change the name of the song to "Close Your Ears Forever". Jillian took
offense and said they did not know talent and they walked to the ring
where Sharon slapped Jillian down to the mat and Great Khali (who was
guest judge for this purpose) knocked Chavo down.
Alicia Fox won a battle royal with Gail Kim & The Bella's & Kelly Kelly
and Eve Tores to get a title shot, yeah great selection.
Jack Swagger was out stalking Eve and was not happy she lost.
Jericho told Ozzy & Sharon they were making a mockery of RAW like all of
the guest hosts have done and said he was a fan of Ozzy's when he grew
up and went to his concerts and wanted to be just like him and dressed
like him and pandered to the fans like Ozzy and then he realized he did
not need them and he said he was better then Ozzy.
DX segment with Hornswoggle where they confront him about using their
trademark stuff. They had him hanging by a hook until Cena came in and
took him down and then it turned to the triple threat match and he told
them to watch his tonight.
DX did color for the main event.
Chris Jericho beat John Cena & Big Show when he pinned Cena to win the
match. DX tried to help Cena after the match and got beat down by Show
& Jericho.
