LINKS BETWEEN LIBERTARIA AND ANARCHISM
As discussed before, in the US, the words "Liberty" and "Libertarian"
are often associated with right-wing politics. I'm not out to judge
wether this is correct or not, I'm just noting it because people tend to
make assumptions regarding the name "Libertaria".
As also discussed before, in Latin-America, it seems that the word
"libertaria" is often associated with anarchism and left-wing politics.
In my previous post, I mentioned a page from Brasil at
http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Academy/5606/
with links to two books, "A pedagogia libertaria" and "A bibliografia
libertaria - um siculo de anarquismo em lmngua portuguesa"
The site also features a link to Libertaria-mente 2000, apparently an
online publication of Nzcleo de Sociabilidade Libertaria no. 5, dezembro
de 1999.
Here are some other examples of Latin-American sites that associate the
word libertaria with anarchism.
Look at the bottom of this page from Brasil at
http://www.geocities.com/CapitolHill/Lobby/5470/
It features links to Chomsky and what it calls Bibliografia Libertaria
and, if you click on th e last link, you'll end up at a page called
bibliografia anarquista.
The Federacisn Libertaria Argentina is an Argentine anarchist
organization founded in 1935. It has a page at:
http://members.xoom.com/ekorni/fla.htm
They also feature an online newsletter called "El Libertario" at:
http://members.xoom.com/ekorni/Libertario.htm
As you know, personally I don't like to put Libertaria in either the
left or right wing of politics. In fact, I regard all politics as
something that is becoming obsolete, as government in general is on the
way out!
Feel welcome to comment!
Cheers,
Ben Mettes
