Seeing no setup? Here's why.  Barend Hendriksen
 Mar 05, 2009 06:47 PST

Most of the Unidisk aficionados will be aware of this, but it seems a
good idea to mention this again!
If you're using the DVI output and not getting a picture after a
firmware upgrade, it means the unit isn't set to HDCP in the setup.
So use a toslink or component or composite (the "yellow" cinch)
connection to alter the setup (it was probably on default settings).
Incidentally, as per the 9-1 upgrade two options were added to HDCP, no
idea why.
Oh yes, and if you use non English subtitling, set the number as per
Linn's document, or you'll never see any.
My 1.1 just came back from the installer's and all seems well although
powering up makes some nasty pops through the Kisto- maybe it's
dampness- the player was almost wet when I unpacked it!
Well, I'm the sort of guy who can never wait...
Well, on Monday my backup Uni is leaving, that's the one suffering from
strange DVD effects sometimes, so I hope the video board modification
has not been done already!
