I would still recognized Francis Faure unless there was some better
information about.
"The 7th of July 1933 was to be the decisive historical day. Francis Faure
( on a recumbent) rode 45.055 km (27.9 miles) in one hour on a Paris
velodrome and thereby smashed the almost 20 year old record by Oscar Egg. "

The old UCI aero bike record is still held by Chris Boardman - 56.37 km
/ 35.04 miles. Best tail-faired recumbent performance 53.43 km / 33.21
miles by Leo de Nooier and best "naked" recumbent 46.79 km / 29.08 miles
by Kees Bakker and Michael Knap, though I suspect there may have been a
certain amount of drafting going on for the latter...
