Dear ICSA List Subscribers,
ICSA has developed a new dedicated email list server system. This new
system is essentially under the full control of ICSA (we are leasing a
dedicated server) and thus will eliminate unwanted advertising and allow
much greater flexibility and functionality. We have been developing and
testing this system for the past couple of months. We are now entering
the final testing stages and intend to “Go Live” to the public with the
new system on January 6, 2005.
In an effort to have a most successful launch of the new system we would
now like to invite the “public” to join in our final tests. We encourage
you to subscribe to our test list via either of the following:
1. On the web go to: http://www.collegesailing.org/00docs/email.shtml
and click on the ICSA_Test link at the top. Follow the instructions to
subscribe yourself.
2. You may also subscribe by sending an email to:
icsa_test-@collegesailing.org
Type the word “subscribe” (do not include quotes) in the subject line or
body of the message.
To get a full description of options available send a message to the
above email address (icsa_test-request) and type “help” in the subject
line or body.
We encourage you to get team/district leaders and people who have
experienced problems with the Topica lists to subscribe to this test
list (particularly using email addresses that experienced problems). We
are hopeful that we have eliminated many of the problems we have
experienced with the Topica lists but we need your help and input to
complete this effort. We would also like your input on the documentation
and intuitive operation of the new system. Please experiment with
changing options, passwords and general functionality.
Please send comments, questions and tests to the general list by sending
email to:
icsa_-@collegesailing.org
The new lists will follow the new naming format:
ic-@collegesailing.org, nei-@collegesailing.org , etc..
We hope to complete the testing by December 31st and have the new system
up and running by the end of the day on January 6th. We will also be
making this system available to other related Sailing Organizations
(such as ISSA, etc.). If you work with an organization that might be
interested in using this system (for a small fee) please let us know.
Thank you in advance for your help!
Sincerely,
Michael H. Segerblom
