Sub.: Joint PhilRice-IRRI project on “Field testing of transgenic rice
with Xa21 gene for bacterial blight resistance”
Dear Mr. Yap
This is in reference to your fax on the above subject addressed to Dr.
William G. Padolina, Deputy Director for Partnerships-IRRI. We received
notice of the approval of the field testing project in a letter from
Undersecretary Panlasigui dated 5 February 2002. Accordingly, the trial
will be conducted in this season at one of the two sites at the PhilRice
experiment station, Maligaya, Muñoz, Nueva Ecija.
We have discussed about the above trial with Dr. Rhodora Aldemita,
PhilRice. I am requesting Dr. Aldemita through a copy of this letter to
respond to your query on the above project.
Thanking you.
