Dear Friend,

On Saturday, October 7th, staff and supporters of the Men's Resource
Center
for Change (MRC) will set off on our Fourth Annual Men's Walk to End
Abuse to
raise awareness about men's critical role in working to prevent
domestic
violence. The walk also raises money to support our Moving Forward
batterers'
intervention program, which offers men throughout western
Massachusetts a
range of tools and strategies to stop abusive behaviors. In addition to
supporting Moving Forward, proceeds from the Walk are shared with five
women's
programs in the Pioneer Valley.

I hope you'll say yes to my invitation to participate in this important
community event - either by walking or by becoming a sponsor. The
Men's Walk
to End Abuse has been endorsed by a range of individuals, including
Sen.
Edward Kennedy and Boston Red Sox outfielder Gabe Kapler. Supporting
this
event powerfully demonstrates your commitment to peace and harmony in
our
families, homes, and communities.

I know you receive requests from many worthy organizations and must
make
difficult decisions about your gifts. I urge you to consider the
unique nature
of this innovative event on Saturday, October 7th-men stepping forward
to say
NO to abuse. Please be as generous as you can.

To find out how you can take part by walking, donating funds or
attending the
rally, please contact Gretchen Craig at gcr-@mrcforchange.org or 413-
253-
9887 ext.16.

With gratitude,

Rob Okun, Executive Director
