This week I collected some resources about different activites you can
do with mealworms. They are easy to keep and make great observation
activities. You can also intergrate many math activities such as
measuring length, timing and/or measuring their movements.
When you are done using the mealworms, you can use them to go fishing
(my husband uses them for freshwater fishing!) or feed pets that eat
insects. They also keep in the fridge for a very long time as long as
they are kept dry, usually in sawdust or shavings in a plastic
container.
This is a 48 page paper on the use of mealworms in the classroom with
observations and quotes from students. I like how they have 3 students
