Hi everyone,
This is the last lesson of the school year, I know a lot of you are
getting out soon, have a wonderful summer and don't forget to check out
the website for ideas for summer school and next year.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I found a really nice and informative lesson plan on how to create an
insect collection and learn about insects. When I taught my bug unit,
the kids were so into in, after the initial "Eeww, yuck" wears off, they
were really curious and excited and brought in bugs for me to identify.
Here is the lesson in pdf:

The links in blue on that page click to the following 4H website:

This has wonderful resources, filled with detail and pictures, and
everything that you need to make a great collection and awesome learning
experience.
The manuals are broken down into different sections for faster loading.

The University of Delaware Cooperative Extention has a great website
with tons of info on different insect pests as well as beneficial
insects. (UD'95 Ag Alumna)

They also have a great website all about Bee Keeping, my former proff.
Dr. Caron wrote some of these fact sheets. He was such a great proff,
he was the reason I minored in Entomology:
