Hey all,
I found a ready to print activity from "Zoom" in which students measure
their height and arm span and compare the lengths. If the two lengths
are within 2 cm of each other, you are a square, and if its is more than
2 cm, you are a rectangle!
This is great way to practice measuring, and you can make a cool
bulletin board out of it. This is also a good lesson to use on a day
where you won't see all your classes, esp around the holidays in
December, it will be fun and keep them busy, as well as review measuring
skills. YOu can also repeat it at the end of the year and compare
measurements.
My favorite "wow" thing to do is have kids take their shoes off and put
their foot on top of their forearm, in between the wrist and bend of the
elbow.....your foot is the same size as the inside of your forearm.... I
know you are going to try it when you are done reading this email!
