Student Leadership Conference to be Held, October 1-3, 2009!
Are you a Midwest District undergraduate student member or a
college/university professor of HPERD? If so, there is a great
opportunity to attend or send students to the 2009 MDAAHPERD Student
Leadership Conference!
This year, our conference is again being held at beautiful Pokagon State
Park, Angola, IN. Conference dates are Thursday, October 1st through
Saturday, October 3rd. 48 students from the Midwest District will be
accepted by their states (8 per MW state AHPERD) to attend this fun &
educational event. If you are interested in attending or sending one of

Complete instructions, registration information and schedule are posted
on this site. Remember....you must be approved by your state AHPERD to
attend and only 48 participants will be accepted! There is NO cost to
the individual students attending, except for their transportation to
Pokagon.
In addition to the Student Leadership Conference, there is a separate,
fee based, workshop being held all day on Thursday, October 1;
"Standards-Based Physical Education:Implementing State and NASPE
National Standards into Your Curriculum". This workshop will feature
Artie Kamiya, nationally known clinician and provide active
participation in lessons which will help you implement standards based
physical education.
Registration fee for this is $50 for AAHPERD Student members who
pre-register by September 20th. Registration fee includes a continental
breakfast, box lunch, conference handouts and more! All workshop
information will soon be posted on this same student website.
